Sound it out. Bring it to life.

The reading app that listens, so your child learns on their own.

ReadBorn sounds out each letter, listens as your child reads out loud, and helps the moment they get stuck. About 15 minutes a day, hands-free for you.

After every story, a baby animal hatches to life.

The app that listens

Other apps ask kids to tap. ReadBorn asks them to read.

Your child sees a real word, sounds it out letter by letter, and says it out loud. ReadBorn listens with on-device speech recognition and steps in only when they need help. No scripts for you to read, no lessons for you to run. The app does the teaching, so you don't have to.

Sounds out every letter

Tap any letter to hear its sound. The app models each sound first, so kids can do it all by themselves.

Listens as they read

Your child says the sounds out loud. ReadBorn hears them and celebrates the win.

Helps only when stuck

Help arrives step by step, from a gentle hint to the full word. It grows only when needed, so your child does the reading, not the app.

Voice is processed on the device. It never leaves the iPhone or iPad.

The magic

Finish a story. Hatch a baby animal.

Every story ends with an egg. Read the words, crack the shell, and a new baby animal joins the collection. There are 181 to hatch across 18 worlds, from the Farm to the Sky. Then point the camera anywhere and watch them appear in your living room with AR.

181 animals to collect

See them in your world

After an animal hatches, point the camera anywhere and it appears right there in the room. It turns "I read a story" into "come see what I made."

How ReadBorn works

Four simple steps

1. Pick a story

Decodable stories matched to your child's exact level, starting with just six letter sounds.

2. Sound it out

Your child reads out loud. ReadBorn listens, helps when needed, and blends the word together.

3. Hatch and collect

A baby animal hatches after every story. Collect them all and see them in AR.

4. Watch them grow

Your parent Report Card shows reading level, streaks, and the sounds to practice next, in plain English.

Real phonics

Real phonics, not memorizing.

ReadBorn is built on systematic synthetic phonics, the approach backed by the Science of Reading and designed with input from K-1 teachers. Kids start with sounds, not letter names, then blend those sounds into words. That is how children learn to read words they have never seen before.

Ten levels, from single letter sounds to real books read aloud, at your child's pace.

Start with sounds, not letters.

Many programs still teach kids to guess words from pictures. That guessing method is now banned in over 15 states. ReadBorn teaches sounding out from day one.

The journey

166 stories across 16 worlds.

From first sounds in the Nest to the biggest words in the Volcano and Space. Each world unlocks as your child levels up: first sounds, first words, word builders, the last letters, sound teams, vowel teams, bossy r and friends, stretch words, magic e and new spellings, then a super reader. Along the way they meet 103 sight words read as whole words, 89 of them from the Dolch lists, and practise handwriting in every class.
